Dubai Economy shuts down 2 gyms and finds 13 violations of COVID-19 guidelines

Dubai Economy shut down two bodybuilding centres in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and issued 13 fines yesterday after various violations were detected during the field inspections being conducted across open markets and commercial establishments to ensure compliance with the precautionary guidelines against COVID-19. The violations were mostly related to face masks or physical distancing, and were found in in Al Qouz, Al Sabkha, Al Bateen, Jafliya, and various shopping malls.

 

Overall, the inspections showed that 660 commercial establishments fully complied with the guidelines. The violations were found in establishments dealing in general trading, textiles, travel, money exchange, lighting tools & accessories, computer & accessories, and a department store in addition to the bodybuilding centres.

 

Dubai Economy said it will continue its inspections along with its various partners, reminding that any violation or malpractice that may be found by the inspectors or reported by the public will not be tolerated.

 

Dubai Economy directed traders to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures and called on the public to report any violation or harmful practices they come across through the Dubai Consumer App available on Apple, Google and Huawei stores, by calling 600545555, or via the Consumerrights.ae website.
