Dubai Sports Council participates in Flag Day celebrations

Dubai Sports Council participated in the UAE Flag Day celebrations on Wednesday, November 3, in the Dubai Design District, with His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Head of the UAE Digital Government and Director General of Dubai Digital Authority, HE Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and Khadija Al Bastaki, Executive Director of Dubai Design District, leading the flag-raising ceremony.

Younus Al Nasser, Assistant Director General of Smart Dubai and CEO Smart Dubai Data, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, and Mohammed Juma Al Suwaidi, Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee, were also present at the ceremony along with the other officials and staff of Dubai Sports Council and other entities.

The national anthem was played at the flag-raising ceremony, in the presence of a large crowd of employees, who all draped the UAE flags across their shoulder to mark the celebrations.

On the occasion, HE Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, extended his warmest greetings and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE, and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates, as well as the Crown Princes. He also congratulated the people of the UAE and its residents.

HE Hareb said: “The UAE flag is a symbol of our unity, strength and sovereignty, and the UAE Flag Day celebration on November 3 of each year is an affirmation of our unity and solidarity behind our wise leadership, and consolidating the values of love, tolerance, peace and coexistence under the banner of this flag.

“This year’s celebration coincides with the Year of the 50th, which represents an important milestone in the history of our country, as well as the hosting of Expo 2020 Dubai, which brings together leaders, innovators and decision makers from all over the world.”
