- Dawoud Al Hajri: The latest global recognition reflects Dubai’s leadership in the field of project management

Dubai Municipality announced that it has won the ‘Project Management Office (PMO) of the Year Award 2022’ at the Project Management Institute Global Summit that was recently held in USA. The achievement makes Dubai Municipality the first entity in the Middle East and Asia region to receive the distinguished Award for its efforts to establish a culture of leadership and corporate governance.

Presented by the Project Management Institute, the Award seeks to honour a PMO that has added value to its organisation through its support of successful strategic initiatives and demonstrated superior organisational project management capabilities. It also recognises a PMO that has established a vision for value delivery and has had a positive and clear impact on business results.

His Excellency Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “The latest global recognition reflects Dubai’s leadership in the field of project management. The achievement also strengthens Dubai Municipality’s leading position in the field and reflects its efforts to achieve business excellence and implement strategic planning in various areas of its work.”

Al Hajri added: “Project management offices are an essential part of modern institutions, helping to maintain and ensure standards for project management. Dubai Municipality’s Project Management Office oversees major projects in the emirate and works within a comprehensive corporate ecosystem that adheres to the highest international standards.”

Dubai Municipality previously won the ‘World PMO of the Year Award’ in 2021, which is presented annually by the PMO Global Alliance, the world’s largest community for PMO’s and PMO professionals.
