DEWA honours 40 of its suppliers and members of the Dubai SME

In line with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s commitment to recognising its distinguished partners, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, honoured 40 suppliers for their commitment to DEWA’s highest standards. Al Tayer also honoured DEWA’s suppliers who are members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME) and suppliers who support People of Determinations.

HE Saeed Al Tayer emphasised DEWA’s commitment to strengthening strategic relations with all partners in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate Dubai’s status as a global investment and business destination; as well as the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance to facilitate business, streamline government requirements, and boost economic growth to enhance the attractiveness of the business environment in the Emirate.

Al Tayer said that the rapid development that Dubai is witnessing across all economic sectors, in addition to the continuous increase in the population, has contributed to an increase in the demand for electricity and water services. DEWA is keeping pace with this growing demand by developing a world-class infrastructure to provide electricity and water services according to the highest international standards of availability, efficiency, and quality. DEWA is also implementing pioneering clean and renewable energy projects, in cooperation with the private sector. This supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbo Emissions Strategy 2050, to provide 100% of Dubai’s total power production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

“DEWA has a world-class governance system that guarantees the highest standards of integrity and transparency in all its operations within a robust regulatory and monitoring environment. We have strategic partnerships with the private sector to support the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade. We are proud of our contribution to the great achievements Dubai has made as it enhances its global competitiveness across all areas. In this regard, I commend your important role in making these achievements through your commitment to complying with the terms of supply and providing products and services in accordance with the best global specifications and quality standards set by DEWA,” added Al Tayer.

“By 2040, Dubai’s population is expected to reach 5.8 million people and 7.8 million during the day. The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan maps out a comprehensive plan for sustainable urban development that ensures the Emirate’s growth and development and supports the vision of the wise leadership to make Dubai the best city in the world to live, work and visit. In cooperation with our partners in the private sector, we will continue to develop Dubai’s infrastructure to provide the best facilities for the best city in the world, guided by the vision and directives of the wise leadership to enhance Dubai’s position as a global city and a preferred destination for living, working, business and tourism,” Al Tayer noted.

Al Tayer commended the efforts of DEWA’s suppliers and encouraged them to continue their excellence and commitment to the highest quality standards. He also urged them to make use of the digital services provided by DEWA, which aim to save their time and effort and make them happier.

Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, said that DEWA is keen to enhance communications with all its partners, fulfil their needs, and listen to their suggestions, as well as honour the distinguished ones. This is in recognition of their commitment to DEWA’s standards, which include conformity with specifications, and commitment to the specified time and supply quantities, according to the comprehensive annual assessment conducted by DEWA.

The suppliers expressed their appreciation, emphasising that DEWA continuously communicates with them to find out their needs and listen to their feedback. They also commended DEWA for providing all its services on smart and digital channels, which saves their time and effort. They highlighted that DEWA offers various opportunities for suppliers according to the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
