- Statement by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Arabic Language Day 2024
- Latifa bint Mohammed: “Our Arabic language is our identity and a gateway to creativity and innovation.”

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, emphasised the pivotal role of the Arabic language in shaping our Arab identity. As the language of the Holy Quran and a cornerstone of human civilisation, it serves as the cognitive foundation of the nation’s heritage, history, and vision.

“Our Arabic language is our identity — the identity of the homeland and the foundation of our belonging and pride. Its authenticity, heritage, and ability to inspire creativity, innovation, and exploration make it a cornerstone of the human intellectual legacy and a gateway to our rich cultural heritage. Arabic is one of the world’s oldest and most influential languages, capable of adapting to technological advancements: as a language of science and knowledge, its profound richness and diversity fuel advancements in artificial intelligence, driving cutting-edge research to present its vast content with unparalleled efficiency and precision. This, in turn, bridges the digital divide and inspires innovation, positioning Arabic as the language of the future.”

Her Highness also highlighted the UAE’s efforts to elevate the status of the Arabic language globally through pioneering initiatives, continually promoting its use among local and international communities, safeguarding its heritage, and expanding its reach. The United Arab Emirates remains steadfast in enhancing methods of teaching Arabic, empowering it as a vital mode of communication and a gateway to boundless knowledge.
