His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the UAE’s leadership and the people of the nation on the 54th Eid Al Etihad. He said the historic decision to establish the Union was a visionary moment that set the country on a clear path of progress driven by a collective determination that has enabled successive generations to script an inspiring success story recognised around the world.
His Highness also greeted the wider sports community, including athletes, coaches, administrators and institutions, as the nation marks a day that has long embodied the values of unity, service and national achievement. He said: “Union Day is a moment in which we honour the legacy of the Founding Fathers who laid the foundations of a nation that placed human development at the heart of its progress. From the earliest days, sport has been an essential part of this journey, serving as a key pillar in building a cohesive society rooted in sustainable wellbeing and preparing generations capable of representing their nation and raising its flag at major international sporting events.”
His Highness added: “Building on this foundation, the UAE sports sector has achieved unprecedented success under the support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The sector has succeeded in developing an advanced and integrated ecosystem that reflects the spirit of the UAE and embodies its values of perseverance, ambition and leadership.”
Sheikh Mansoor reaffirmed that the UAE NOC continues to work closely with various stakeholders to enhance the UAE’s position as a world-class sporting destination.
