His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, said that UAE Flag Day is a cherished national occasion that symbolises the unity and shared identity of the UAE’s people. His Highness noted that this annual initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recognises the enduring loyalty of the people and their commitment to national unity.
In a statement on the UAE Flag Day, His Highness said that the occasion embodies the spirit of the Union and reaffirms the UAE people’s deep sense of belonging, their loyalty to the leadership, and their dedication to upholding the nation’s flag as a symbol of pride and unity.
His Highness extended his congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, on this significant national occasion.
Sheikh Ahmed noted that Flag Day serves as an opportunity to honour the values and lessons of a nation known for its achievements, leadership, and humanitarian efforts, and the unity of its people in upholding the flag as a symbol of progress and creativity.
His Highness also said that Flag Day represents the core values of the Union: solidarity, determination, and confidence in the abilities of Emiratis. These principles have guided the nation’s development, based on the foundations laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and their fellow founding fathers, whose vision and leadership forged the nation and established the UAE as a model of unity, leadership, and progress.
Sheikh Ahmed said that Flag Day is an occasion to renew determination to advance the Union, achieve greater accomplishments, and empower the UAE’s people to build a prosperous future based on deeply rooted values.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum closed his statement by highlighting the key role of UAE media in instilling these values, especially in younger generations, by teaching their history and the sacrifices behind the nation’s achievements. He affirmed that national media will continue to support development, foster creativity, and uphold the UAE’s reputation for excellence, with its flag symbolising leadership and achievement across all fields.
