His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, said Commemoration Day reaffirms the UAE’s gratitude to its heroes who gave their lives for the nation. Their sacrifices have etched proud chapters in the nation’s history, keeping its flag flying high through courage, dedication and selflessness.
His Highness noted that on this day, the nation remembers the noble sacrifices of its martyrs, who embodied the timeless qualities of selflessness, courage and determination. He highlighted that the UAE has consistently responded to the call of justice, standing with those in need, protecting the innocent, and upholding security and peace.
He also emphasised that the memory of the heroic martyrs would remain forever in the nation’s heart, inspiring values of giving, devotion and dedication. He affirmed the nation’s commitment to safeguarding the country’s achievements and ensuring that the UAE flag remains a symbol of unity and pride.
Sheikh Mansoor added that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, together with Their Highnesses the Supreme Council members and Rulers of the Emirates, the UAE will continue to uphold its values, guided by its belief that protecting the nation’s security and prosperity is a duty worthy of the highest sacrifice. His Highness also emphasised the crucial role of the UAE Armed Forces, calling them the nation’s shield and fortress.
