The summit, organised by the General Command of Dubai Civil Defense, attracted broad international participation, bringing together representatives from 64 countries and 31 organisations comprising some of the world’s leading fire and safety institutions.

The event was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai; His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai; Major General Tamim Mohammed Al Muhairi, Director General of the Dubai State Security Department; His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC); His Excellency Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar, Executive Director of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services; along with a number of heads of international delegations.

During the summit, His Highness was briefed on the outcomes of the One Billion Readiness Initiative, launched in Dubai one year ago with the objective of raising fire safety awareness among one billion people worldwide within four years. In its first year, the initiative achieved exceptional results, reaching more than 500 million people through over 250 million digital interactions across 64 countries and cities, with its key messages delivered in 25 languages through 68 global awareness campaigns.

Performance indicators relating to the initiative highlighted a tangible global impact, contributing to an 18% reduction in fire incidents, a 24% improvement in emergency response times, a 25% decrease in human losses, and the saving of an estimated 45,000 lives annually.

Three organisations honoured
As part of the summit, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor honoured three organisations with the Global Impact Award for Community Safety in recognition of their outstanding contributions to community training and awareness under the One Billion Readiness Initiative through 2025. The organisations honoured during the event were CTIF, Fire Aid, and NFPA. His Highness joined international delegates for a photo session at the conclusion of the event.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defense, stated that the World Safety Summit reflects Dubai Civil Defense’s commitment to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, to position the General Command of Dubai Civil Defense as a global leader through strengthening international partnerships and promoting innovation to build more efficient and sustainable safety systems. He emphasised that the One Billion Readiness Initiative represents a pioneering model for collective international action in preventive awareness, contributing to the consolidation of a global culture of safety and the enhancement of community readiness worldwide.

On their part, assembled delegates from across the world praised Dubai’s success in organising major international events that strengthen international efforts to promote community safety and security while fostering best practices and exceptional safety standards.
